Scorching heat in the US has affected nearly 100 million people, with temperatures reaching into the upper 90s and a heat index of 110 degrees. Tragically, a 1-year-old girl was left in a daycare van in Nebraska and died. The van driver has been charged with child negligence resulting in death.
