Climate change endangering amphibian species around the world, 136 of 426 in India threatened: Study

Climate change is causing the deterioration of amphibian species globally, with India being particularly affected. A study found that out of the 426 species evaluated in India, 136 were threatened. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka were identified as states with high amphibian diversity and significant threats. Climate change accounted for 39% of status deteriorations since 2004, followed by habitat loss.
