Typhoon Koinu caused no deaths but injured 190 people in southern Taiwan as it brought strong winds and rainstorms to the island. The typhoon made landfall in Cape Eluanbi and is expected to weaken as it moves towards southern China. Cities across Taiwan cancelled work and classes, and flights and ferries were also cancelled.
