Lack of good rainfall and extensive snow have resulted in higher average minimum temperatures across most of India this December. The minimum temperature anomaly during December 1-18 has been 3 - 4°C above normal over a big chunk of the country, including central India, east India, and south peninsular India. Rainfall figures for northwest India show big deficits during December, with Delhi at -91%, Himachal at -69%, Uttarakhand -45%, Punjab -30% and J&K at -56%.
